Drift

Post by amberwillow on Mon Aug 18, 2008 7:59 am

Dappled colour meshed with shadows
sunlight slants through my thoughts
twirling, shining, glowing tendrils...

drifting with Summer
warm with the future
growing, deepening, nestled in peace...

uncertainty ceases
fear receeds
worry drains away...

I am sunshine
I am warmth
I am contentment.

Amber, this is a nice poem to wake up to first thing in the morning. Smile

Indeed, it feels like the morning itself. Beginning with the unspoken darkness of the colors "meshed" with shadow, the sense of light grows as we move into the poem. You create much of the early powerful effect in the poem convey with imagery that's evoked instead of stated outright: so when the sunlight slants through thoughts, we see the unspoken darkness of the image, and feel that the person has been unhappy. I like the three solid statements of being at the end of this poem, too.

Thank you.
